DENARE WATERPROOFING TECHNOLOGIES AUSTRALIA

BauPlast™ T is a homogenous sheet waterproofing membrane developed specially for civil engineering applications. It is manufactured from engineering grade Lucobit® 1233 ethylene co-polymer bitumen (ECB), originating froma joint BASF-Shell company.

BauPlast™ T is produced in accordance with German Standard DIN 16729 and Australian Standard O-Norm B 2209 for ECB membranes. It meets high practical standards demanded by civil engineering specifications and applications, including the Sealing of Engineering Works (AIB) regulations specified by the German railway authorities.

BauPlast™ T has excellent mechanical and physical properties, is resistant to rot, ageing and UV radiation and environmental stress cracking. Free of plasticizers and chlorine, it meets occupational health standards, deos not contaminate water and soil and is non-toxic to plants.

The BauPlast™ T system includes a range a proprietary ECB accessories such as anchor strip/water-stop profiles for terminations and expansion/construction joints, preformed corners, rondels and ECB-metal sheets.

Installation

BauPlast™ T is homogenously joined using hot air welding techniques without adhesives. Hot air welding is carried out at 450° C to 550° C using manual or automatic equipment to seal overlaps. Automatic equipment is required to produce a double welded seam with a centre test channel.

BauPlast™ T is generally loose laid but anchored to the substrate by either welding to pre-fastened ECB rondels or to ECB anchor strip/water-stop profiles pre-cast into the substrate. The membrane may also be strip bonded to the substrate using polyurethane or rubberised bitumen adhesives. Full binding may be achieved with hot bitumen, cold-applied rubberised bitumen or bituminous adhesive underlays.

BauPlast™ T is also available with a synthetic non-woven fabric laminated to the underside to facilitate bonding with hot bitumen.

Termination BauPlast™ T and bridging over construction and expansion joints is achieved by welding to ECB anchor strip/water-stop profiles, pre-cast into the building structure. Additionally BauPlast T may be terminated by clamping where required.
