LIQUID MEMBRANES

WATER-STOP FR

Water based polymeric liquid rubber membrane.

WATER-STOP FR is a copolymer membrane containing a micro fibre reinforcing. WATER-STOP FR has been specifically designed to reduce blistering and wrinkling that may occur in exposed situations, as it does not require the general use of polyester reinforcing fabric or glass fibre chopped strand mat. WATER-STOP FR, when fully cured, will form a flexible waterproof membrane, suitable for wet areas as described in Australian Standard AS3740-2004 "Waterproofing Wet areas within Residential Buildings." (CSIRO opinion 157).

WATER-STOP FR is suited for balconies, parapets, flashings and podium decks, where positive drainage is provided. It offers an excellent pedestrian or vehicular trafficable membrane when combined with a suitably coloured WATER-STOP TRAFFICABLE MEMBRANE surface finish.

INSTALLATION DETAILS:

  1. Suitable substrates such as villaboard, structafloor, plasterboard, concrete and cement render shall be dry, clean and free from dust, oil and other contaminates. the surface must be firmly fixed to the manufacturer's directions.
  2. Small hairline cracks, joins, internal corners, penetrations and other details shall receive a bead of Denare Polyurethane sealant and allow 1 hour to tack dry before proceeding. Movement cracks must be routed out an filled with Denare Polyurethane sealant. Apply a reinforcing bandage embedded in WATER-STOP FR and allow to dry.
  3. WATER-STOP FR is self priming on the above surfaces, however application is facilitated by priming with Denare Primer applied at 6m²/L. External surfaces and compressed fibro sheeting must be primed with Denare Primer at 6m²/L. Where substrate has been subject to leakage Denare Hydrepoxy 300 should be applied at the rate of 3-5m²/Lt. This should be allowed to cure for at least 2 hours.
  4. Apply first coat of WATER-STOP FR to all areas. When dry, approximately 24 hours, apply two or more coats to floor area and one coat to wall areas. Minimum dry membrane thickness of 1.2mm to floors and turned up areas is necessary and 0.5mm to walls. Check for pin holes when dry.
  5. The fully cured WATER-STOP FR membrane is UV resistant. Where a coloured finish, resistant to continuous foot traffic, is required apply a final coat of Denare Trafficable Membrane at the rate of 3m²Lt. To improve ease of cleaning apply a thin coat of Denare sealer at the rate of 3m²/Lt on top of the Denare Trafficable Membrane.

CLEAN UP:
Uncured WATER-STOP products may be removed with water. Removal of cured products may be assisted with Denare GP Solvent

PRECAUTIONS:
Positive drainage must be provided.Do not apply above 35°C or below 8°C. Wash equipment with water before dry. Do not fix tiles until fully dry, normally 1-4 days. Areas subject to rising damp should be first sealed with Denare Epoxy-Coat. Protect membrane from traffic prior and during tiling. On external surfaces provide a slip sheet between membrane and topping.
