DENARE WATERPROOFING TECHNOLOGIES AUSTRALIA LIQUID MEMBRANES WATER-STOP RW Latex Modified Bituminous Membrane. WATER-STOP RW is a liquid applied, latex modified bituminous elastomeric waterproofing membrane which when fully cured forms a permanentely flexible waterproof lining to most building surfaces. WATER-STOP RW is ideally suited to retaining walls, tanking, planter boxes, balconies, and decks. INSTALLATION DETAILS: Suitable substrates such as reinforced concrete, block work, cement render, plaster board, fibre-reinforced cement sheets and structafloor shall be clean and free from dust, oil and other contaminates. Surface may be slightly damp but must be free from seeping moisture. The surface must be firmly fixed to the manufacturer's directions. WATER-STOP RW is self priming when used on most internal surfaces eg: villaboard, chipboard, sound concrete, block work. Surfaces may be primed with WATER-STOP RW thinned with 50% water. External deck surfaces shall be primed with Denare Sealer/Primer applied at 6m²/litre. Areas subject to rising damp should be first sealed with Denare Epoxy primer. Small hairline cracks, floor/footing wall junction, expansion joints, internal corners, penetrations and other details shall receive a bead of Denare elastomeric sealant and allow 1 hour to tack dry before proceeding. A reinforcing bandage should be used over the following areas: expansion joins, movement cracks, footing/floor to wall junctions, penetrations, and areas where movement will occur. Reinforcement may also be required over voids in off form concrete. When WATER-STOP RW is being applied to a surface that is to be reinforced the first coat should be applied at approximately 2m²/Ltr. Immediately lay the reinforcing fabric into the wet surface, then apply further membrane and work in carefully to saturate the fabric. Apply one or more coats to give a minium coverage of 1.5Ltr/m². When dry, approximately 24 hours, check for pin holes. When WATER-STOP RW is not being reinforced apply 2-3 coats at a total rate of 1.5Lts/m². When dry check for pin holes. Be sure coating will cure before contact with water. Wash equipment with water before they dry. Do not fix tiles until fully dry, normally 1-4 days. Protect membrane against damage before backfilling or tiling etc. Allow sufficient expansion and contraction in control joints in overlaying tiling and topping, particularly important with sheet flooring. Do not leave membrane exposed to UV rays for more than 4 weeks. A plastic slip sheet should be considered in tile beds greater than 25mm in thickness.
